MAY 2015 CLUE: A principal of a well-known architectural firm designed a private library featuring a Renaissance inspired rare-book room for one of the richest men of the Gilded age.

MAY 2015 ANSWER: The answer to the May issue’s Guess the Architect is Charles Mckim of Mckim, Mead & White, who designed the Morgan Library and its Renaissance-inspired east room for John Pierpont Morgan in New York in 1906.
