The Architecture Lobby is pleased to announce a launch party in collaboration with Jai & Jai Gallery to mark the launch of a new, dedicated Architecture Lobby Chapter in Los Angeles.
The Architecture Lobby is an organization of architectural workers advocating for the value of architecture in the general public and for architectural work within the discipline. Jai & Jai Gallery, one of Los Angeles’s most progressive architecture galleries, proudly supports this event, sharing in the goals and ambitions of The Architecture Lobby.
The Lobby was formed three years ago by young architects, students, and established practitioners as a decentralized organization across the country. Committed to upholding the highest standards of inclusiveness, democratic governance, and transparency, the Lobby is now a non-profit organization with hundreds of members and strong chapters active in New York City, Chicago, Tampa, Denver, Iowa, and the Bay Area. The Architecture Lobby is pleased to add Los Angeles to this growing network of architectural workers committed to fair labor practices within and without the profession.
To mark this event and introduce the Architecture Lobby in Los Angeles, Jai& Jai Gallery will host a party on Friday, October 21, 6–10pm.
The party will also feature the exclusive LA screening of (Re)Working Architecture—a film documenting a performance by The Architecture Lobby during the 2015 Chicago Architecture Biennial. Copies of the Lobby’s acclaimed book, Asymmetric Labors: The Economy of Architecture in Theory and Practice, first launched at the 2016 Venice ArchitectureBiennial and currently featured atthe Lisbon Triennial, will be availablefor sale at the event and also on Jai & Jai’s webshop.
Come and talk, watch, dance, drink and learn about the benefits of becoming an Architecture Lobby
