You're invited to Light in Action 2016! The fast-paced, one day program offers a behind-the-scenes look into lighting manufacturing and application techniques – plus an AIA CES credit, and chance to visit New York City! Light in Action follows a fixture's evolution from the drawing board to the factory floor to installation. Lighting designers, architects, engineers, and museum preparators alike gain first-hand lighting knowledge, immediately applicable to their designs. The program can be tailored to match your industry, location, and prior experience.
Highlights of the program includes:
Art of Lighting Tour: See lighting theory come to life at the Edison Price Lighting Gallery. Rick Shaver, our Lighting Certified Executive Vice-President of R&D, leads an engaging 1-AIA CES credit tour of lighting techniques and trends.
The future of LEDs: Learn how cutting-edge LED modules will change visitor experiences everywhere. Xicato's Director of Sales (East), Megan Carroll, presents Xicato's XIM, an LED module already capable of sending and receiving real-time information.
Dimming Control Innovations: Master dimming controls, and see what's on the horizon. Experts from eldoLED explain how to select dimming controls, from influencing factors, to available technologies, to the final application.
R&D Round Tables: Our R&D engineers invite you to hands-on discussion of fixtures and their application techniques.
Tour of factory: See 'Made in USA' in action, including: A laser machine cutting 10' x 5' sheets of aluminum, EPL veterans of 30+ years hand-building progressive dies, A punch press applying 22 tons of pressure on steel, Employees demonstrating handiwork techniques, such as wiring, paint applications, reflector spinning, and more.
Testing Capabilities: Includes a demonstration of photometric and heat tests; structural strain tests; coloring across circuit tests; and glass strength tests that always result in a (safe) explosion!
