Following the success of the 2015 UK-China Green Hospital Design Summit, the Hospital Architecture System Research Branch of Chinese Hospital Association and The Building Centre has initiated a new summit to take place at RIBA in London.
Co-organised by MacRae International Communications and China Design Centre, and supported by UKTI, and Enterprise Ireland, the summit will bring 35 influential Chinese hospital leaders and healthcare architects to the UK for an interactive discussion with UK healthcare specialists about sustainable hospital design and development.
This year’s summit will explore subjects such as people-centered and holistic hospital planning and design concepts, hospital service management, intelligent hospital systems, green materials, and energy efficiency management systems.
The event is in response to the recent increase in investment in healthcare in China, which is part of the Chinese governments Five Year Plan to build 3,000 new hospitals and update 26% of their existing hospitals. The design summit will include speakers from NHS, Shanghai Hospital Development Centre, M Health International, HKS, Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, BDP, Shanghai the Ninth Hospital, Avanti Architects, Shanghai Institute of Architecture Design and Research, NBBJ, Ansell and Bailey, Medical Architecture and Pearson Lloyd.
