Alice Kimm, FAIA
Alice Kimm was born in Chicago and spent her high school years in Seoul, Korea. She received an undergraduate degree in Economics from Cornell University and a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University. She co-founded JFAK Architects with her partner and husband John Friedman in 1996. Alice held the position of Chair and then Director of Undergraduate Architecture at USC from 2010-2014 and was appointed Adjunct Professor in 2015.
Alice was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to research housing types in Korea in 1997, and was selected to deliver a TEDx Talk by the Fulbright Association in 2015. She currently serves on the Advisory Board of the LA Forum for Architecture and Urbanism. Alice was elevated to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects in 2010. She spends her free time reading fiction, playing squash, and hanging out with her husband and three children.
