The complete 2nd Avenue line is required to take the load off the Lexington Avenue line when the East Side Access project opens bringing something over 100,000 more people per day to Grand Central Terminal from Long Island. The MTA, the city and the state are seriously remiss in not pushing forward with phase 3, to Houston Street and phase 4 to Hanover Square (Wall Street). The Q train, which serves phases 1 and 2 turns west at 63rd Street, and does not relieve enough congestion at the Grand Central subway stop. Half a solution is better than none, but it is not adequate.<\/div>\n
