Brooklyn-based artist Heather Hart’s installation Oracle of Lacuna at Storm King Art Centerinvites visitors to shift their perspective by venturing in, around, and on top of the rooftop of a house, seemingly buried underground.
The site-specific work, made of shingles and other traditional building materials, represents the fifth chapter of Outlooks—the sculpture park’s annual exhibitions series—and marks the first time an artist has created a work intended for public participation and programming, which will include workshops and performances of music, spoken word, and poetry.
