However to my way of thinking the overall design results of the various buildings which make up the campus are much too individualistic in their design and don\'t have a strong unifying design concept with one another. I especially think back to the Air Force Academy in Bolder Colorado by SOM several years ago by Gordon Bunshaft and the original campus of the University of Virginia by Thomas Jefferson. Each in its own way has a strong underlying concept that greatly contributes to the overall success of each campus design.

Unfortunately the campus design architects are trying much to hard for individuality and or something new with their individual buildings which don\'t work very well as a collective group. I completely understand the architects desire to create something new and exciting but they just didn\'t pull it off. Too bad, needless to say it was a great opportunity for them to rise to the occasion. In short there was a real need for less look at me design and a stronger overall campus concept.

 Post Comment
 Report Abusive Comment

');
