This is a sad and unworthy proposal. If it gets built (and I hope it doesn’t) it will age very quickly and poorly. \n\nTime for new architects and new ideas… and perhaps a better appreciation of the word “restoration”.\n\nPS - I don’t see any of the so-called “glamour” referred to by Tsien<\/div>\n

I agree with the comments above and add that the hall indeed had poor acoustics that needed to be mended. But it\'s clear they have gone overboard in a design that is aligned with the worst of current NYC architecture.\nIt\'s flashy and impersonal, however much they want to \"invite\" people in. They want to make people spend time there and spend money. I suspect that the hall is also intended to host shows that have nothing to do with the NY Phil. I appreciate the NY Phil, but calling it \"the best orchestra in the world\" is a typical demonstration of NYC arrogance and cultural myopia.<\/div>\n
