Yawn. Studio Gang unveils new building design with horizontal or vertical curves. Very popular woman, but in my view she has adopted the worn Richard Meier \'one trick pony\' approach. \n\nProjects with project-specific creativity are much more interesting than projects that \'apply\' the standard \'design\' approach. \n\nWJ, 3/30/22<\/div>\n

This is \"Innovation?\" I\'m hoping that the exterior isn\'t finished yet! Please tell me that it\'s not, that there is yet another layer of something to be applied. Anything. Or, perhaps Christo\'s ghost could wrap the thing until someone can figure out how to fix what, in earlier generations, would have been called a facade. But this building has not facade, nor is it \"wrapped\" with a \"skin\". I\'ve never wondered what a building designed by and for very large wasps would look like, but now I guess know what I didn\'t want to know.<\/div>\n

It's Gaudi - 21st Century style<\/h2>\n

A first impression form the thumbnail images of the proposed atrium and street facade reminds me of Antonio Gaudi\'s famous facades (both of exterior and of interior courtyards) in Barcelona. \n\nBut Gaudi\'s art deco designs celebrate and exuberate life and the urban experience. What I see here though is heavier, with a sense of post war bombed out buildings or ancient cave-like cliff dwellings.\n\nThe intricate complex three dimensional space of the atrium could be out of the film Fantastic Voyage (1966). Not enough info to know if it will yield a successful experience and symbolism as intended.<\/div>\n
