The concept of adaptive reuse is greatly expanded in terms of scale with the decision to repurpose and reuse a 47 year old 46 story tower. The project suggests possibilities for a more conservative approach to urban development, practiced throughout history, to reuse existing built environment. Rather than destroy or demolish and rebuild, or build new with all the detrimental impacts to the environment that implies, this approach suggests that it is indeed feasible to focus on the sustainment and repurposing of the existing built environment.<\/div>\n
