We lost one of our leading creative artists on Sunday when the legendary choreographer Merce Cunningham passed away, a few months after his 90th birthday.

RECORD captured Cunningham in the midst of preparations for a dance performance this past April to celebrate that milestone birthday. Collaborating with Barcelona architect Benedetta Tagliabue on the set design, Cunningham combined dancers and musicians on stage at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
