New York City's local NPR station, WNYC, just ran a brief story about UrbanCanvas, a join initiative of the Department of Buildings and Department of Cultural Affairs that has eight artists competing to dress up the fences, sidewalk sheds, scaffolds, and nets that separate pedestrians from construction sites.
