Like our news director, Jenna M. McKnight, I also missed many New York Design Week events while in D.C. for the American Institute of Architects conference, but I did get to check out the International Contemporary Furniture Fair before it closed yesterday. A few highlights are below. Check out even more in our Facebook photo gallery.
The best from Istanbul, Autoban's furniture always has some flourishs, but with clean lines, it stays on the right side of embellished—handsome stuff. The architecture, interiors, and product firm’s Throne bar stools looked great in their geometric booth.
Displays of small-scale design tchotchkes broke up the rows of booths showing larger objects.
Lighting designer Lindsey Adelman (top, in the bright scarf) set up a workshop (above) in her booth.
Mary Wallis stands with the work she designs in a Brooklyn studio that once housed a morgue and coffin factory.
Textiles from Amy Helfand (right).
Playful lighting at lacoli & McAllister.
