Douglas Wyatt Hocking, AIA, LEED AP
Principal
Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates

Doug Hocking is a Design Principal at Kohn Pedersen Fox where he has worked for over 25 years on award-winning projects of varied scale all across the United States and around the world. With a focus on detail and craft, demonstrated advocacy for sustainable and resilient architecture, and an aptitude for developing functional and elegant solutions to complex challenges, Doug has been responsible for some of the firm’s most successful commercial and residential buildings.

Doug has been particularly active in the Washington metropolitan area, with recent work including a mixed-use, LEED Platinum project in Tyson’s Corner and the first trophy office building at The Wharf. His design for 1900 N Street, currently under construction, brings new dynamism to the office typology. Its translucent glass enclosure and 12-story, red truss distinguishes the building as a gateway to the capital city’s central business district.

Doug’s work outside the Beltway includes a boutique residential building in New York’s SoHo district, the first LEED Gold office building in San Francisco, headquarters for IBM and Prudential in Armonk and a multi-block residential and retail complex in South Korea.
