Kevin Carmody studied architecture at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and Canberra University, Australia and moved to the UK in 1999. He founded London-based studio Carmody Groarke with Andy Groarke in 2006.

In addition to his professional work in the studio, Kevin has lectured internationally about the work of the practice, recently speaking to institutions, academics, and client partners at the Design Museum, London, Bozar Centre for Fine Arts, Brussels and the National Australian Institute of Architects Conference in 2023.

He has taught at several architecture schools in the UK, Europe and the US, including Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL), The Royal College of Art, The University of Stuttgart where he was a Visiting Professor, Cornell University where he was Gensler Visiting Design Critic, Harvard GSD where he was visiting design critic and Yale School of Architecture, where he was William Henry Bishop Visiting Professor.
