The 2017 Pritzker Architecture Prize is nearly upon us. This year's laureate will be announced Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at 10 a.m. The award, which last year went to Chilean architect Alejandro Aravena, honors someone who has made significant and consistent contributions to the built environment. Considered the profession's highest honor, the prize was established in 1979 by the Pritzker family of Chicago and has been called "architecture's Nobel."
