CookFox Architects cofounder Rick Cook joins DESIGN:ED to discuss urban design within the context of New York City and the adaptive design behind the reenvisioning of the Terminal Warehouse in West Chelsea.
Born in Luxembourg, Krier is best known for planning King Charles III’s Poundbury, England, and his contributions to the New Urbanist enclave of Seaside, Florida.
Led by artistic director Florencia Rodriguez, ‘SHIFT: Architecture in Times of Radical Change’ will feature more than 100 architects and designers engaging at sites around the city.
This month’s ongoing dates and events include exhibitions at MAXXI, the Skyscraper Museum, the Glass House, and London’s Design Museum, where, just in time for summer, visitors can view a show on the design of swimming.
The global prize spotlights the group’s initiative to change EU laws so that renovating existing buildings for housing, in lieu of demolition, is easier and more affordable.
