Nouvel Unveils Design for National Art Museum of China

In August, RECORD was the first to report that Jean Nouvel was the likely winner for the National Art Museum of China in Beijing, beating out Frank Gehry and Zaha Hadid. The Financial Times recently revealed Nouvel's design of the building. In an accompanying interview with the architect about the design, planned for a site next to the Herzog & de Meuron–designed National Stadium, known as the Bird’s Nest, Nouvel said the concept is inspired by a brush stroke.
