This course will explore the fundamentals of fire-rated glass and framing, including historical background, fire-rated glazing classifications, product testing and key fire-rated glazing code changes. Moving beyond the basics, we’ll explore modern multifunctional glass where fire-rated glazing is coupled with other safety glazing features. Finally, we’ll delve into real-world applications of modern fire-rated glazing systems to explore how they helped building professionals solve design challenges without having to compromise design goals.
