SEPTEMBER 2013 CLUE: The mosaic-tiled swimming pool, inspired by Roman Baths, was designed by a graduate of the Ecole dex Beaux Arts in the early part of the 20th century.

ANSWER: Julia Morgan, whose design for the Roman Pool at Hearst Castle in San Simeon, California, was completed in 1934.
