October 2016 Product Briefs: HVAC
The latest warming and cooling options increase control and simplify installation.

SCC901 Louver
Providing for high-volume intake and exhaust ventilation, this storm-class louver protects against water penetration. The extruded-aluminum unit incorporates a horizontal-blade front module and vertical-blade rear module that suit a range of configurations. The SCC901 is also AMCA 540 and 550-listed for Wind Borne Debris and High Velocity Wind Driven rain.

Ductless Performance Series
These enhanced versions of Carrier’s ductless multizone heat pumps offer superior energy efficiency: models have a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) of up to 23.8 and heating seasonal performance factor up to 10.5. The units also function during temperature extremes, providing heat for climates as cold as -22ºF and cooling for days as hot as 122ºF.

Prefabricated Water Heater Systems
These preset packages bundle Noritz America’s commercial-grade, Energy Star–certified NCC199 tankless units with the corresponding system controllers, manifolds, and components. All 36 rack options come fully assembled, with the installer needing only to connect the water and gas lines, build the vent runs, and set up the prewired controller.

UPZC Series
Grundfos’s non-networked controls direct circulator and boiler functions in residential hydronic heating systems. Available in side-mount and forward-facing models, they connect to standard thermostats, operate from a cold-start configuration, and manage up to six zones. They also can be coupled to accommodate custom applications.

Heat-Only Thermostat with Touchscreen
Uponor’s nonprogrammable thermostat for hydronic radiant-heating systems utilizes sensors to measure a room’s operative and/or floor temperature, and then adjusts each to the desired level. The touch screen unit features a color-enhanced display; it also has two-wire power sharing for easier installation.
