Copenhagen Climate Adaptation Plan
After costly flooding in 2011 and an estimated 30 percent increase in future rainfall, the city of Copenhagen, Denmark created a proactive master plan to tackle future climate challenges. The Climate Adaption Plan includes infrastructure that both diverts and incorporates rainwater into the fabric of the city. Green spaces will absorb rainwater, while underground pipes will channel water into the sea. The plan also includes warning and response systems to deal with emergency weather conditions.
