On Wednesday, October 7, 2015, Architectural Record will hold its annual Innovation Conference on design and technology, bringing together key figures from the field for a day of professional crosspollination.

Gregg Pasquarelli of SHoP will give the morning keynote, followed by a talk on creativity by Michael Bierut, a partner at the design firm Pentagram. Drew Seskunas, founder of The Principals (a past RECORD Firm to Watch) will explore the boundaries of architecture and art in his midmorning talk.

An afternoon panel moderated by RECORD’s deputy editor Suzanne Stephens will feature Ed Feiner of Perkins + Will, James von Klemperer of Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, and Diane Hoskins of Gensler, discussing the increasing frequency of mergers and acquisitions among architectural practices and addressing how firms large firms can increase their design creativity even as they grow. Ryue Nishizawa, co-founder of Pritzker Prize-winning firm SANAA will deliver the closing keynote. (For a full list of presenters, visit the Innovation Conference website.)

The event, which offers the opportunity to earn up to 7 American Institute of Architects learning units, will take place from 7:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Time & Life Building in the heart of New York City. A post-event cocktail hour will allow attendees to keep the conversations going after the conference has concluded.
