The 8-month streak in elevated billings scores has begun to slow down.

Demand for design services remains strong, however a lag in architectural employment may factor into firms’ ability to keep pace.

Architectural billings continue to trend upward for an eighth consecutive month, but it is unlikely that firms' revenue increases can keep up with demand. 

July marks the sixth consecutive positive month for architecture billings.

Billings and inquiries are so strong that some firms report that they aren't able to fill all the architectural staff positions.

The ABI score hasn't been this high since November 2007.

This month's billings and inquiries scores are the highest recorded since before the Great Recession.

The increase signals continuing progress for the industry after a year of decline.

Both the ABI and design inquiries are over 50 in what the AIA hopes is "the start of a more sustained recovery."
