In a former warehouse in the city’s historic Marais district, OMA designs a discreet new arts center for the Fondation d’entreprise Galeries Lafayette.
The project will bethe first public building in New York City designed by Rotterdam-based Rem Koolhaas and Shohei Shigematsu, director of the firm’s New York office.
The OMA partner's new book Four Walls and a Roof: The Complex Nature of a Simple Profession takes an idiosyncratic look at architectural history and dissects contemporary practice.
The pavilion, which will open October 3rd, will host four months of architecture and design programs, including talks, workshops, performances, and installations.
