Deborah Berke Named Winner of Inaugural UC Berkeley Prize for Women in Architecture
New York City-based architect Deborah Berke has been named UC Berkeley's first Berkeley-Rupp Architecture Professorship Prize winner. The award, presented by the university's College of Environmental Design, was established to reward the scholarship and achievements of "a distinguished practitioner or academic who has made a significant contribution to promoting the advancement of women in the field of architecture," UC Berkeley said in a statement.
