A classic favorite in New York City has reopened not far from its birthplace in the Seagram Building.

Now that New York’s legendary Four Seasons Restaurant has served its last supper, the elegant furniture and dinnerware that populated its two dining rooms are going their separate ways.

The Four Seasons Restaurant, designed by Philip Johnson in 1959, leaves the Seagram Building with only memories intact.

The architects of a number of striking projects featured in this month’s record have radically reimagined new spaces within existing structures.

Big, splendid and very expensive (mere art lovers may buy a drink at the bar), the new restaurant in the Seagram building is called The Four Seasons.

As a final act of vandalism, the vintage mid-century furnishings of the legendary restaurant are to be sold in July.
