Trading Places: At the 2016 Kitchen and Bath Show, residential designs took an industrial turn, while contract pieces looked increasingly refined.
Adjustable to fit surfaces up to 34" high, this undercounter refrigerator features LED lighting, pullout glass shelves, and telescoping drawers that self-retract slowly and quietly. Stainless-steel railings and partitions allow users to customize storage, while the dooron- door technology allows cabinetry panels to be affixed with ease.
Choice is the operative word with this dimmable handmade pendant, which is offered with LED or traditional E26 base lamping and in a variety of wood frames, finish options, and shade sizes (walnut with 24" distressed-brass shade, shown). The fixture’s 96" field-adjustable cord also makes Ignis suitable for sloped ceilings.
IKON Apron-Front Sink
Made from Silgranit, a scratch- and stain-resistant granite composite, the latest model of this undermount sink offers a 10"-high apron and 9¼"-deep bowl; it’s also heat-resistant up to 536º F. The custom-fit grid handles the weight of pots and pans, providing added cushioning for users. Available in three neutral hues.
Providing individual fixtures and handwashing space for up to three users, this basin comes in 15 shades and numerous Greenguard-certified materials, including composite quartz and bio-based resin. All models have a class-A fire rating and are stain-, scratch-, and heat-resistant.
60" Pro Grand Range
This 5'-long unit offers six burners and a host of customizable options inside and out, including side-by-side convection ovens and a professional grill with 12" griddle (combination shown). The range’s proprietary venting technology reduces back-wall temperature, making it the only model this size that can be installed nearly flush against a surface.
Litze Bath Collection
Inspired by the Bauhaus and its mix of industrial and artistic elements, these fittings are substantial in feel and handcrafted in look. They come in four metal finishes; select pieces are available with teak accents. The showerheads also feature an integrated TempAssure thermostatic valve that incorporates volume and temperature control in one fixture.
Wood grain, quartz, and grass cloth are among the patterns featured in Formica’s latest laminate collection. Three new large-scale designs—as well as four textile-like options—also suit hospitality and contract use. All (including Weathered Cement, shown) utilize the company’s EliteForm technology for increased scratch- and stain-resistance.
SO613 Shower Head
This flush-mounted fixture adds chromotherapy to the showering experience, running a choice of custom or preset color programs designed to relax or energize. The user controls everything via a waterproof remote, which also allows him to toggle among three spray options. The showerhead can be paired with a variety of thermostatic mixers and hand showers.
One-Piece with Stealth Technology
This ultra-high-efficiency toilet uses just 0.8 gallons per flush—the least water of any single-flush toilet on the market. The flapper-less design reduces leakage, while the patented hydraulic technology minimizes operational noise.
Immune to the effects of flowing water and steam, this Bluetooth speaker may be mounted inside a shower or set atop a counter. The unit, a marriage between Philips’ audio engineering and Grohe’s fittings expertise, streams eight hours of music from a smartphone or tablet located up to 25' away. Comes with a water-resistant charging base.
