Carbon Negative Cement
This could really be a game-changer, is what one juror said about Novacems Carbon Negative Cement. A winner of Material Connexions Material of the Year, Novacem replaces calcium carbonates used in typical cement formulation with magnesium silicates and uses a lower temperature production process that runs on biomass fuels. While the cement is still in development, the manufacturer is already achieving strengths of up to 80 MPa.
