Guess the Architect: November 2025

A monthly contest from the editors of RECORD asks you to guess the architect for a work of historical importance.
Clue: Nestled against a hillside on the edge of a growing East Asian city, this art school campus was designed by an architectural duo known for their use of masonry construction and reinterpretations of historical motifs. With its weighty, landscape-inspired forms, the campus exemplifies their search for a contemporary architecture imbued with national identity.
By entering, you have a chance to win a $500 Visa gift card. Deadline to enter is the last day of each month at 5:00pm EST.
Last month's answer: The Copacabana calçada (sidewalk) in Rio de Janeiro was designed by Roberto Burle Marx. The Portuguese wave pattern at its front edge predated this 1970s project, but in Burle Marx’s hands, the pattern grew in scale and was joined by several others that together turn the ground into a lively color- and motion-filled canvas.
