PMMA/PUMA – Rapid Cure Systems for Waterproofing

This course will discuss the performance benefits and key physical properties of PMMA/PUMA —next generation technologies for waterproofing and coating applications. Recommended installation procedures will be reviewed for the following applications – vehicular coating, horizontal waterproofing and PMMA/PUMA as a flashing tie-in.

Stephanie Lengel: Stephanie is a Product Manager at Tremco Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing and manages Polyurethane Methacrylate (PUMA) and Polyurethane technologies, Butyl-backed sheet membranes and Vegetated Roof system assemblies. She is responsible for ensuring Tremco is properly addressing the changing needs of the market place as it relates to our product line offerings for the Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing market segments in North America. She supports Tremco’s high-performance building envelope strategy from a marketing perspective with an emphasis on the technical aspects of the products and the connectivity between adjacent building enclosure systems.

Maha Nagra: Maha is a market manager at Tremco Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing and manages polyurethane methacrylate (PUMA) and polyurethane technologies, butyl-backed sheet membranes, and vegetated roof system assemblies to meet the market needs for waterproofing applications. Her team supports in the development and execution of Tremco’s high-performance building envelope strategy. Maha works closely with architects, consultants, and contractors by providing marketing and technical support through specification development and product selection.

  1. Identify the typical uses of PMMA/PUMA in the construction industry
  2. Learn the key physical properties of PMMA/PUMA technology
  3. Recognize the benefits of speed of application of PMMA/PUMA and return to service
  4. Understand the recommended installation practices, including surface preparation for key applications – Vehicular Coating, Horizontal Waterproofing and Flashing Tie In
