Guess the Architect: October 2025

A monthly contest from the editors of RECORD asks you to guess the architect for a work of historical importance.
Clue: This stone promenade has become synonymous with one of South America’s most popular beaches. The work of a landscape architect known for using abstract, playful compositions to generate fluid spatial sequences, this project marks the meeting of land and sea with a historic pattern of black-and-white waves.
By entering, you have a chance to win a $500 Visa gift card. Deadline to enter is the last day of each month at 5:00pm EST.
Last month's answer: Located on the Italian island of Capri, Casa Malaparte was initially designed by Adalberto Libera, in the late 1930s, although a series of modifications made by his client, Curzio Malaparte, transformed the project prior to its completion in 1963. With its curious mix of formal rigor and eccentricity, the reddish-pink villa defies easy categorization.
