Thomas Phifer returns to the DESIGN:ED podcast to discuss the opening of the Museum of Modern Art Warsaw, the reverence for light in architecture, and his response to being the inaugural recipient of Architectural Record’s Architect of RECORD award.
“I think the conversations we've been having over the last five and 10 years are completely different from the previous 20 years. They have become deeper and richer and have a greater humanistic connection. We are thinking about choreography—the movement of the body through space and light. I'm not sure we were there 15 years ago. Yes, we tried, but it isn't until you get a little older—and, hopefully, wiser, calmer, and more settled—that the works are now more heartfelt.”
