“The AIA needs to be better connected as a holistic infrastructure—more in tune with the local chapters and coordinated around issues of advocacy. We're all colleagues across this big network of architects, but AIA National is taking advantage of its situation in Washington to speak at the federal level and to be more visible and vocal. Communication has come up a lot, second to advocacy, when I've talked with people over the last several months. How do they know what we're doing? How do they know what's going on? How do they know how to participate and get involved?”
