Architectural Record hosted its third annual Women in Architecture Forum & Awards symposium November 2 at New York City’s CUNY Graduate Center.

Among the dozens of temporary installations erected at this summer’s weeklong Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert, Tangential Dreams—an undulant timber tower designed by French architect Arthur Mamou-Mani—was a celebration of mathematics, teamwork, and free spirit.

Design junkies could soon get their hands on a reissue of Italian designer Fortunato Depero’s 1927 Futurist cult classic, Depero Futurista—widely known as “The Bolted Book.”

The architects reimagined the contemporary rowhouse through this renovation and expansion of an 1899 wood frame house that had been stripped of detail and left in disrepair.

The architect removed a previous addition to the home, then added a new wing with the master suite, a glazed dining terrace, a sitting space with a wood-burning stove, and utility rooms.

On October 6, the Royal Institute of British Architects bestowed its highly coveted award—the RIBA Stirling Prize for best building of the year—to the Newport Street Gallery, designed by Caruso St John Architects.
