January 2017 Product Briefs: K-12 Schools
Feel secure with durable ecofriendly goods that protect kids and support flexible learning and working styles.

ColorArt Medintone
Offering a uniform appearance and wear pattern, Armstrong’s latest sheet-vinyl flooring is scratch, stain, and scuff-resistant thanks to its Diamond 10 Technology coating. The low-VOC product is free of orthophthalates and heavy metals and comes in 48 coordinating colors.

149 Series Vandal-Resistant Buttons
Suitable for standard electrical mounting boxes, Deltrex’s 5052 Marine-type aluminum switches protect against tampering and withstand environmental elements including dust, rain, and snow. The actuator push plate is level with the base for easy cleaning, while the durable unit has a mechanical life of 1 million cycles.

Qove Lounge
Tablet arms, privacy panels, and fully upholstered interiors are standard on this seating system’s four mix-and-match modules. Each unit can be customized with integrated power sources and additional privacy screens, the latter offered in frosted acrylic or non-woven PET.

Stratus Shelter
Made of galvanized steel, this modular bike shelter features tempered-glass roof panels that can be configured flush or in varying angles. Each 11'-high x 12'-wide unit can accommodate up to 30 bikes when fitted with a double-decker storage rack. Single and double-side roofs are available, as are matching side panels.

Hold Daily
These mobile units for shared spaces come with a fixed shelf, rolling caster wheels, and an optional metal storage box; one model also offers a locking door. Manufactured from painted steel, each cart measures 14¼" wide by 36¼" high by 19⅛" deep and comes in one color, textured white.

YHS 50 FS/FI
The latest additions to the ProTek line of hurricane and blast-mitigation storefront systems span up to 12' and can withstand pressure up to 90 PSF. With models designed for monolithic glazing and insulated glass, the Wind Zone 3 and Florida HVHZ-approved products allow developers to opt for less-costly storefront solutions rather than curtain walls. The YHS 50 FS/FI systems are pictured in use at the Alice M. Harte charter school in New Orleans, above.

Airblade V
Thanks to a redesigned motor, impeller, diffuser, and set of air apertures, the latest version of Dyson’s V produces 30% less noise than its predecessor. The machine, which dries hands in 12 seconds, protrudes a mere 4" from the wall. It also contains HEPA filters that clean the air by capturing up to 99.97% of allergens and bacteria measuring 0.3 microns or larger.

Corner Office
Defining personal space without causing cubicle claustrophobia, Corner Office comprises acoustic fabric panels flanking a fully dimmable LED task light; the light’s aluminum armature also contains three USB ports for phone- and laptop-charging. Optional privacy extension panels and storage pockets round out the system, created by designers Peter Stathis, Michael McCoy, and Pablo Pardo.

Perfect Drain Classroom Sinks
This line of heavy-duty sinks fitted with Elkay’s edgeless Perfect Drain system has no gap around the plughole, denying grime and bacteria a crevice in which to accumulate. The vandal-resistant assembly may be specified on four of the company’s sinks, including models with bowl depths of 7½" (standard) and 6½" (ADA-compliant).

Crosscut
Created by textile artist Suzanne Tick, the three offerings in this line of 24"-square carpet tiles vary in tone and scale. They may be used monolithically or mixed together to create custom designs. Constructed from 100% recycled nylon, the trio is Cradle-to-Cradle silver-certified and Red List–compliant when specified with Tarkett’s Ethos Modular backing. Stamp in Blue Stake, shown.
