“As a designer, I can make anything happen with enough steel and concrete. But at a certain point, it’s like pushing the limits of those materials. It’s a practice of trying to reign yourself in a little bit. You see a lot of glass, giant openings, free floor plans, lofty ceilings, et. cetera. You try to pick and choose from an aesthetic palette that you as a designer, as well your coworkers and clients, have as an expectation—and then see what you can take and what you must leave behind because it just doesn't make sense with the material. With every project, we get better at like narrowing that down and letting adobe do what it wants to do.”
