Best known for designing the Monterey Bay Aquarium and academic buildings across California, the San Francisco–based architect died earlier this summer at the age of 90.
Born in Luxembourg, Krier is best known for planning King Charles III’s Poundbury, England, and his contributions to the New Urbanist enclave of Seaside, Florida.
The ASLA Medal–winning landscape architect’s notable works include Peavey Plaza in Minneapolis, Pershing Park in Washington, D.C., and Jacob Riis Plaza in Manhattan.
