Our March focus on civic architecture showcases four buildings designed for public engagement and service of all stripes: A state-funded museum that serves as a new cultural anchor—and place of refuge—for a windswept desert region in northern Chile; a community center that debuted in an underserved Saint Paul, Minnesota, neighborhood months ahead of an exceptionally tense period; a thoughtfully designed interpretation center, where all are welcome, built for a high-traffic UNESCO World Heritage Site in Delhi; and the striking new headquarters for a subsidiary of the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation.
